There is clearly confusion

We’ve gotten our first look at Spider-Man actor Nic Cage from the set of Spider-Man Noirwhich is currently being filmed. Fans are torn over the picture.

To be honest, you can’t really convey much mood from the photo released as it only shows Nic Cage kneeling and looking slightly defeated.

Spirit of Yotei is a sequel to the extremely successful Ghost of Tsushima by Sucker Punch

But while fans are commenting, few of them seem to know much about the show at all before the picture appeared.

Spider-Man Noir Nic Cage was always expected to take on the role, a reprising from the Spider-Verse films, and was announced as a live-action film months ago, but many are shocked that it isn’t an animated series.

One Twitter user said: “Why isn’t this animated? Why does Sony keep doing stupid things?”

Even though he took on the role – which is a departure from the comics and features an older Spider-Man – and did great work in the Spider-Verse films, one fan writes: “Cage? Lmao they must be desperate to get this guy out of trouble.”

The confusion continues with others wondering what Cage will look like for the rest of the show, saying, “Please tell me this is not his costume for most of the series.”

Given that he’s wearing a long black coat and dress pants, I think that’s unlikely, right?

Another fan jumped in to defend the outfit: “He’s retired so it won’t be long before he finds the suit again. Imagine if the noir comics played before the show.”

Luckily, there are some positive comments on this first look.

Another Twitter user said: “This is going to be so good, I’m so glad they actually cast Nicholas Cage.”

Some seem excited to see what comes of it. While Cage’s performances over the years have been spotty at best, he still has an Oscar on his mantel, so this could be something great.
