GRAND BLANC

The football team defeated Lansing Everett 35-21 last Friday. Ben Thompson was 5 of 5 on extra-point kicks, Joey Larobardiene had 8.5 tackles and three pressures on defense and Jerell Clement had 61 receiving yards and two touchdowns. With three minutes to play, Jake Morrow scored on a 40-yard rush. Nik Lemons had a touchdown and a fumble recovery, Allen Frank had a fumble recovery and Morrow threw to Clement for a touchdown in the second quarter. At halftime the score was 14:14. Jay Coleman scored a touchdown and Morrow threw a 21-yard pass to Clement just before halftime.

The boys soccer team defeated Midland Dow 2-1 on Monday with goals from Braydon Curtis and Owen Cooper. Grand Blanc beat Troy 1-0 last week with a goal from Hassan Ali. Eli Pake led the spectacular defense in the win. Earlier, Grand Blanc defeated Midland 3-0 with two goals from Harris and one from Ali.

The cross country teams competed in the Mott Fall Classic on September 20th, with both teams placing fifth. Levi Skinner was 10th in 19:56.10, Jacob Brox was 26th in 21:22.67 and Nathan Rainwater was 28th in 21:39.71. For the girls, Anshu Talati finished ninth with 26:21.51, Birva Khunt was 13th with 27:08.29 and Vella Gillespie was 38th with 31:50.11. Tori Hall was 40th in 33:13.51 and Dalilah Robinson was 50th in 39:26.40.

On September 24th, Grand Blanc was at the SVL Jamboree #2 with the girls placing first and the boys placing third. Grace Tykocki was first in 19:40.49, Sarah Albright was sixth in 20:55.65 and Leah Humphrey was seventh in 20:56.91. Livia Willing was ninth in 21:24.02, Micali Teeple was 14th in 21:54.69 and Aydynn Thomason was 15th in 22:17.66.

Maxwell Merrill was fourth at 17:24.07, Max Bladzik was eighth at 17:31.18 and Charlie Smith was ninth at 7:31.45. Carter Crosby was 14th in 18:11.24, Aaron Zannetti was 15th in 18:12.64 and Nick Priestap was 17th in 18:36.82. Levi Skinner was 19th in 23:36.19 and William Dean was 20th in 18:42.57.

The volleyball team defeated Saginaw 26-8, 25-7, 26-8 on September 27th. Ella Stevenson had 13 aces and Willow Goodrich had five aces and 10 assists. On September 24th, Grand Blanc lost 2-1 to Manchester. Stevenson had four digs and 15 assists and Goodrich had six digs and 11 assists.

The girls golf team placed second with 348 cards at the Schwartz Investment Co. tournament at Huron Meadows on Sept. 26. Sadie Kondel shot a 78, Emily Mack 86, Maria Baier and Kate Rosebrough 92 and Emily Rowell 100. On September 23 at the Dow Invite, Grand Blanc won the title with a round of 334. Mack had 78, Kondel 80, Baier 87, Rosebrough 89 and Riley Rachut 93.

The boys tennis team defeated Flint Powers 8-0 on September 24th and topped Lapeer 8-0 on September 22nd.

The girls swimming and diving team defeated Midland 116-69 and Bay City Western 115-68 on Sept. 26 in Midland.

DAVISON

The soccer team defeated Saginaw United 57-0 last Friday. AJ Hill rushed for 91 yards on seven carries and scored twice. Wesley Hughes returned a punt for a touchdown.

The boys soccer team lost 8-0 to Midland Dow on September 25th.

The cross country teams competed in the Shepherd Bluejays Invite on Sept. 28, with the boys team placing 22nd and the girls placing 15th. Levi Mayer was 92nd in 16:57.77 and Luke Mayer was 98th in 16:59.31. Brooklyn Wiltse was 51st in 19:53.65, Olivia Gartrell was 76th in 20:25. 86 and Ivy Forrest 81st in 20:30.49.

The boys’ tennis team lost 8-0 to Midland Dow on September 25th.

The girls golf team attended the Grass Lake Invite on September 26th and placed third with a round of 394. Nadia Oskey scored 89, Peyton Rowe 93, Alex Knopf 99, Autumn Bell 113 and Jayden Young 125.

The volleyball team improved to 18-4-3 this season after defeating Marlette 25-14, 25-21 and Reese 25-12, 25-17 on Saturday in Marlette. Adelynn Wilcox had nine digs. Davison defeated Warren Regina 25-16, 25-21, Memphis 25-9, 25-6 and Attyson Phelps with six aces. Against Almont, Davison won 25-13, 25-10. Last Thursday, Davison lost in a dogfight to Mt Pleasant 25-23, 28-30, 21-25, 25-21, 15-12. Wilcox had 13 digs.

WASH

The football team defeated Holly 60-0 on Friday. Raymond Weder had a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Mason Ruff had a 38-yard touchdown and Luke Smith completed a 54-yard pass to Jagger Cherveny for a touchdown. Smith also had a 59-yard pass to Cherveny for another score. He had 169 yards on the night. Carter Murphy had a forced fumble, Andrew Fisher had a 71-yard touchdown run, Eldon Gillespie had a 37-yard touchdown run and Cole Gruning had 9.5 tackles.

The boys’ tennis team captured its seventh straight Flint Metro League title on Sept. 26 at Clio.

The volleyball team defeated Kearsley 25-5, 25-9, 25-13 on Monday. Last week, Flushing defeated Fenton in straight sets.

The girls golf team placed third at Monday’s Metro League tournament with 379 cards. Kayla Rousseau scored 87, Anna Wasson 94, Cali Baldwin 97, Hannah Ethington 101, Lillian Fitch 116 and Rhianna Shaw 139. On Sept. 26 in Frankenmuth, Flushing was first with 198. Wasson and Baldwin each fired 48, Ethington 50, Fitch 52 , Kenzey Lintz 60 and Shaw 64.

The cross country teams were at the FML Jamboree #2 on September 25th with the girls placing ninth and the boys placing fifth. James Latstetter took first place at 16:26.21, Griffin Good was seventh at 17:29.65, Jaylyn Wildman was 10th at 17:52.98 and CJ Shilling was second at 19:07.51. John Wilson finished 27th in 19:36.01.

Lily Polega was sixth in 21:58.84, Eleanor Olivo ninth in 22:16.97, Eve Sheldon 22nd in 24:08.59, Kaitlynn Ortiz 23rd in 24:08.75 and Olivia Orr 29th in 25: 35.77. Hope Kriesh finished 30th in 25:43.42.

At the Shepherd Bluejay Invite on Sept. 28, the boys placed 29th and the girls placed 32nd. Latstetter was seventh in 15:40.26 and Wildman was 119th in 17:15.34. Polega was 144th in 21:43.35 and Olivo was 153rd in 21:57.11.

The boys soccer team defeated Swartz Creek 8-2 on Sept. 25 and tied Holly 2-2 on Monday.

SWARTZ CREEK

The soccer team suffered a 49-0 loss to Linden on Friday.

Boys soccer suffered an 8-0 loss at Brandon on Monday. On Saturday, Swartz Creek hosted a tournament and went 1-2, beat Perry 4-1, but lost to Bay City John Glen 6-0 and Chesaning 4-1.

Volleyball lost to Holly 25-21, 25-16, 25-17 on September 25th.

The boys cross country team placed ninth with 110 minutes and the girls placed 11th with 138 minutes at the Flint Metro League Jamboree #2 on September 25th. Jonny Striler finished ninth with 17:39.54 and Isabel Adkins took 12th with 22:33.53.

CARMAN AINSWORTH

The football team lost a 41-26 decision to Bay City Western at home on Friday.

Boys soccer suffered a 4-2 loss to Bay City Western on Monday. On September 26, the Cavaliers tied Lansing Everett 2-2.

Volleyball was defeated by Lapeer on Sept. 26, 25-8, 25-8, 25-15.

In cross country, one runner competed at the Saginaw Valley League-South Jamboree on Sept. 24, with Elijah Idom finishing 21st in 18:46.57.

KEARSLEY

Kearsley football was defeated 41-6 in Fenton on Friday.

Boys’ football beat A Coruña 3-0 on Monday. Tony Romero scored two goals while Landon Bent scored one goal. On September 24th, the Hornets lost 1-0 at Clio.

Volleyball was defeated by Flushing 25-5, 25-9, 25-13 on Monday. On September 25, the Lady Hornets were defeated by Linden, losing 25-9, 25-11, 25-17.

The boys cross country team placed 28th in the elite division at the Shepherd Bluejay Invitational on Sept. 28. Jack Lillywhite crossed the finish line in 15:56.31, placing 16th. Sophia Sporman was the top Kearsley girl, finishing 22nd in 21:36.7. On September 25, the boys team placed sixth with 66 points and the girls placed seventh with 93 points at the second Flint Metro League Jamboree of the season. Lillywhite was second in 16:33.29, while Molly Gaudard was fifth in 21:53.75.

The girls swimming team defeated Lapeer 121-42 on September 24th. Waas Davis took first place in the 200m freestyle, Taybor Soper took first place in the 200m freestyle, Sarah Chamber took first place in the 50m freestyle and Ariannah Horne took first place in the 100m freestyle and Sarah Chamber was first in the 100m freestyle.

ATHERTON

The football team defeated Holton 46-6 last Friday

The volleyball team lost to Morrice 20-25, 16-25, 25-23, 10-25 on September 26th.

BENDLE

Bendle football defeated crosstown rival Bentley 22-12 on Friday to pick up its third straight win.

Volleyball defeated International Academy of Flint, winning the first set 25-22 before losing the second 22-25. Bendle recovered to win the next two sets, 30-28, 29-27.

In cross country, Hudson Inman placed 77th in the Gold Division at the Shepherd Bluejay Invitational on Sept. 28 in 19:38.61.

BENTLEY

The football team lost 22-12 to Bendle last Friday.
