LCCC President Marcia Ballinger speaks at the Lorain County Strategic Action Plan Final Summit

According to a news release, the Lorain County Strategic Action Plan Final Summit will be held Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Spitzer Conference Center, Lorain County Community College, 1005 Abbe Road in Elyria.

Marcia J. Ballinger, Ph.D., president of Lorain County Community College, will be among the speakers at the final summit, the release said.

Ballinger has served as president of LCCC since 2016 and has held various leadership positions at the college since 1991.

It is recognized as a national leader in workforce and economic development, according to the news release.

The final summit will be the culmination of the work of Lorain County’s strategic action plan process launched March 25, the release said.

Since launch, pillar discussion workshops have been held from April to June and in-depth task force meetings from July to August 2024, the release said.

This work focused on actions in the five areas that formed the pillars of Lorain County’s strategic action plan:

• Innovative industrial and economic development

• Transportation

• Personnel development and training

• Reside

• Natural resources

The final summit will include a presentation of the short-, medium- and long-term actions identified in the task force meetings, the release said.
