Students in Uganda are Surpassing Expectations
When you train girls in photography in Uganda no less, you don’t know how successful you will be. For one I am not present in the country; we conduct our sessions via Whatsapp as we are all on different schedules and standard timelines.
A few of the students in my photography training in Uganda are surpassing my expectations. Especially in light of the fact that most of them have never owned or operated a camera.
“My name is Gloria Mary Nabirye a 22-year-old student at Uganda Christian university. I was born and raised in Entebbe. Growing up, I always wanted to pursue a practical course. Right from high school I wanted to pursue mass communication which is a combination of journalism and communication. Joining university, I knew my dream had come true, however was quite not impressed with the approach simply because we focused more on theory that practical which made it hard for me to acquire skills such as photography.
When I heard about the opportunity from Amina was so excited and immediately applied. At no cost apart from my time, I was able to get a camera to practice photography which is so exciting. Recently I was the photographer at a friend’s graduation party using the camera I was given. Will forever be grateful to triple F photo tours for the opportunity and for enabling me achieve my dream.”
I cannot wait to see how far Gloria takes her photography training and how her future changes and unfolds.
