Training Takes On New Life With Youth Arts Movement Uganda

Training girls in photography in Uganda is no easy feat - especially when I live in Canada. Cameras for Girls Uganda is only able to grow by the amazing partnerships I have.

One of my partners in Uganda is Kenny Mulinde of Youth Arts Movement Uganda; a notable and talented photographer and filmmaker in his own right. Kenny provided us with the space to train out of for the 3-days in-depth training we did. He is now providing bi-weekly training to learn editing, coupled with the KelbyOne online modules, which gives our girls the ability to edit the photos they are taking in practice and for their monthly assignments.

Kenny also recently offered the girls an opportunity to attend his one-week film-making camp and four of our girls took advantage of this opportunity.

Gloria, Prisca, Diana and Joy spent four days out in the sunshine learning more about how to improve their photography skills, how to edit them, how to film a short film and more.

See the photos below and watch for more amazing stories of our partners and our girls learning photography through Cameras for Girls Uganda.
